When do you open and what are your operating hours?
Our BaseCamp is open from 9:00am to 6:00pm, 7 DAYS A WEEK from the start of May Long Weekend to end of September Long Weekend. During this period we operate up to 11 zip line canopy tours daily (8:30am, 9:00am, 9:30am, 10:00am, 10:30am, 12:00pm, 12:30pm, 1:00pm, 2:30pm, 3:00pm, & 3:30pm) depending on demand. Our BaseCamp activities are also operating in full swing (climbing wall, treetop adventure park, treetop drop, and mini-zips for kids)! Advanced booking for the zip line canopy tour and treetop adventure park is recommended.
NOTE: We are also open during September; however, our activities are available by reservation ONLY. The number of zip line canopy tours that we run daily are also reduced during this time in the season.
How long is your zip line?
Our zip line canopy tour actually consists of SIX zip lines that vary in length from 100 feet to 625 feet. So to answer that question accurately, we’d need to know which line you are referring to! In addition to the six zip lines, you will also experience an 80 foot sky bridge, three short nature hikes and several exciting transitions from zip line platform to zip line platform! The tour is nearly TWO HOURS in duration!
Is there an age limit to go on the Canopy Tour or the climbing wall?
Generally we use 8 years old as our guideline. However, it is actually your WEIGHT that determines whether or not you can come along for this adventure! To go on the Canopy Tour, you need to weigh between 50lbs and 250lbs. To go on the climbing wall, you need to weight less than 250 lbs. Also, please note, that children 14 years of age and younger MUST be accompanied by an parent or legal guardian; a policy that applies to ALL zip line canopy tours at Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures. We also have a mini-zips for kids area that has a few zip lines for the little ones. ;) For information on other activities, please view the "What We Do" menu at the top of the page.
Are there washrooms facilities at your site?
Yes, we have washroom facilities available for our guests and visitors, although, unfortunately, our washrooms are not universally accessible! They do, however, have some pretty amazing murals painted on the walls.
How much fun will I have if I come visit Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures?
We’ll go with the word “lots” but you really have to come see for yourself!
What is the most convenient way to book a Canopy Tour?
The easiest way to book a tour is through our online reservation system! You are able to select your group size, pay for your Canopy Tour and you will get a confirmation that you can bring with you to the site. This is hands down the most convenient way to “Sign up for Your Adventure”. If the you are not comfortable with that method of reserving a tour, feel free to email us through the contact page or give us a call at BaseCamp (306.662.4466) and we'll reserve a trip for you and/or your group! Advanced booking is recommended, so please check availability online prior to making a day trip.
Is this a safe activity to participate in?
As with any activity, there are risks involved but we have taken every precaution possible to ensure a safe and thrilling Canopy Tour experience. Our guides are well-trained in safety procedures, our zip line platforms are designed and stamped by an engineer right here in the Province of Saskatchewan, and we designed this tour with the help of an individual who has amassed 30 years of experience in this industry! We also have our course and gear inspected by a third party prior to the start of each season. So yeah….its safe.
Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park? So, the Alberta-side?
NOPE. NO WAY. NOT A CHANCE! To find us you will need to cross that imaginary line called the Alberta/Saskatchewan border and visit us on the SASKATCHEWAN-SIDE of Cypress Hills. Keep on the Trans-Canada Highway (#1) until you reach Maple Creek, SK and then head south 28 kms on Highway #21. Follow the signs for the Cypress Hills "Centre Block" and once you reach the park gate, just ask the friendly Saskatchewan Park staff where to find us OR follow the signs to the Resort.
Do I need to sign a waiver prior to participating in the experiences you offer?
Yes. All participants must arrive at our BaseCamp at least 20 minutes prior to their scheduled activity. The purpose of this is to allow time to read, understand, and sign our waiver. By signing our waiver, you will waive your right to sue us and exercise other legal rights. All participants under the age of 18 years old must also have their waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. You can download a copy of our waiver at the bottom of this page.
